Mark Temons Declares Candidacy for Democratic Nomination in 31st Senatorial District

In a bid to bring fresh perspectives and a commitment to community service to the political arena, Mark Temons, a 45-year-old carpenter residing in Upper Allen Township, has officially announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination in the 31st senatorial district. This district represents parts of Cumberland and York counties and is currently held by two-term Republican incumbent Senator Mike Regan.

Temons, a native of Lock Haven and a graduate of Niagara University, brings a unique background to the race. With a history of owning a business focused on building houses, he transitioned to a nonprofit role where he now designs home improvement projects for accessibility. His work primarily benefits seniors, individuals with disabilities, and veterans, allowing them to maintain their independence and stay in their homes.

In a nearly four-minute YouTube video introducing his candidacy, Temons emphasized his belief that effective leadership begins with listening. He expressed a desire for more collaborative and constructive dialogue in the Pennsylvania Senate, asserting, “We need more builders in the Pennsylvania Senate. That’s how we make our shared vision a reality and build a Pennsylvania that works for all of us.”

The 31st senatorial district encompasses various Cumberland County communities, including Upper and Lower Allen townships, Lemoyne, Mechanicsburg, New Cumberland, and Shiremanstown. It also extends into York County, covering municipalities such as Dillsburg and York City.

Mark Temons, currently residing in Upper Allen with his wife Kristal Markle-Temons and their four children, aims to unseat the incumbent Republican Senator Mike Regan, who is anticipated to seek re-election for a third four-year term.

The Democratic candidate’s vision for the district and the state involves a focus on inclusivity, community development, and a dedication to the needs of all constituents. With a background in both business and nonprofit work, Temons brings a unique blend of experiences that he believes will serve the community effectively.

As the primary election approaches, the race for the 31st senatorial district promises to be one to watch, with Mark Temons positioning himself as a candidate with a commitment to building a better Pennsylvania for everyone.
