Kremlin Laughs Off Rumors of President Vladimir Putin falling ill

The Kremlin swiftly dismissed recent rumors of President Vladimir Putin falling ill and the persistent speculation about him using body doubles with a hearty laugh. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov waved away the allegations, assuring everyone that the president was in excellent health.

“Rest assured, everything is perfectly fine with President Putin. This is yet another example of baseless misinformation,” Peskov confidently stated, countering an unsourced report that had been circulating on a Russian Telegram channel and had even reached some Western media outlets.

As for the intriguing notion of body doubles, Peskov couldn’t help but chuckle in response. He categorically denied any such practice, emphasizing that these claims were nothing more than absurd and persistent hoaxes. He quipped, “This falls into the realm of fanciful conspiracy theories that some media outlets seem to embrace with remarkable persistence. It’s hard not to smile at such imaginative tales.”

Vladimir Putin, celebrated for his martial arts skills as a judo enthusiast and his carefully crafted “action man” image, marked his 71st birthday on October 7. Despite his age, he maintains a rigorous schedule filled with meetings and public appearances, many of which are broadcast for the public’s viewing pleasure.

In a 2020 interview, Putin candidly refuted the longstanding rumors about using body doubles, clarifying that while the option had been presented to him for security reasons, he had never actually taken it up.
