Mike Speedy Announces Candidacy for U.S. Congress
Indiana State Representative Mike Speedy, hailing from District 9, officially declared his candidacy for Indiana’s 6th Congressional District on January 9.
A seasoned community leader, Speedy has served as a representative for House District 90 since 2010, representing the southeastern portion of Marion County. Before his tenure as a representative, he was a member of the Indianapolis City Council for almost seven years, showcasing a long-standing commitment to public service.

Speedy’s professional background includes serving as the chair of the House Financial Institutions committee and membership in the Judiciary and Roads & Transportation committees. A graduate of the Indiana University School of Business and the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis, he brings both legal and business expertise to his political career.
Beyond his professional achievements, Speedy is described as a committed Christian and family man who enjoys sports, flying, the outdoors, and traveling with his family. He actively engages in community service, volunteering as a mentor for the Indianapolis Big Brother Big Sister chapter and EAA’s Young Eagles, while also being an associate deacon at the Living Word Bible Church.
