Former North Dakota Senator Ray Holmberg Indicted on Child Sex Tourism Charges

Former North Dakota state Senator Ray Holmberg, a prominent Republican figure, has been indicted in federal court on charges related to child sex tourism and child pornography. The 79-year-old politician has been accused of traveling to Prague, Czechia, with the intent to rape a minor. The indictment alleges that Holmberg made multiple trips to Prague between June 2011 and November 2016 for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts with a person under the age of 18.

Additionally, Holmberg is charged with receiving or attempting to receive images depicting child sexual abuse between November 2012 and March 2013. The indictment, unsealed recently, claims that he received and attempted to receive explicit child pornography during this period.
